After School Art with Daphne Morton
SUPPORT YOUR CHILD’S CREATIVE EXPRESSION WITH AFTER SCHOOL ART CLASSES!
Stone Bank’s generous contribution to our youth artisan program enables us to offer REDUCED TUITION for our popular after school arts program!!
For 5 weeks – February 5th through March 5th (consecutive Tuesday afternoons), let your children wrap their fingers around real media and their brains around images of their own creation. This series of after school workshops will focus on projects that use collage, watercolors, ink and more. Approaches range from blind contour line drawings to Jackson Pollock style drip paintings, Aboriginal dot art and mixed media compositions. Daphne Morton will stress new ways to see, use and interpret art and building skills along the way.
Classes meet every Tuesday, from 3:30 – 5:00 PM. Materials and a light healthy snack are included in the tuition.
Open to elementary and middle school aged youth – contact us if questions about your child’s participation.

I'm Daphne Morton, a self taught artist from the age of four, I've spent countless hours trying out any form of art that I could get my hands on. I'm a huge fan of changing up methods and mediums to fully immerse myself in anything with creativity at its core. I taught art at a basic level for a few years at a local mental health facility and am certain of the benefits that are linked through artistic expression. I became devoted to following this career path and went on to graduate with honors from Ozarka College here in Mountain View, and also through the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I've both tutored at the local elementary school and been involved in several artistic functions in this area for years. Although not a native to Stone County, I've lived here off and on since grade four and have found that Mountain View is indeed a place I'd prefer to call my home. There's not a more beautiful place that exists to draw inspiration from than our beautiful little town and the scenic views that surround us throughout the seasons. I am now happily the advertising manager and graphic designer at the Stone County Leader, and find that my profession allows me to create artistically daily, which has always been my dream. A lover of watercolors, oils, pastels, sketching, and even some sculpture, I am open to any path that involves color and meaning.
