Fly Casting Styles – Which Is Right For You?


In this 4 hour workshop with visiting master casting instructor, Keith Richard with provide a review of various casting styles via a 2 hour PowerPoint presentation/talk (at ACS), followed by traveling to a nearby casting lawn where students can view some of the more popular styles and get to practice and receive individualized attention. At the end of this workshop, students will be able to analyze his/her fly fishing situation and choose the proper casting style that best suits their needs. Bio-mechanics of the cast and how to avoid stress injuries will also be covered.

Students can anticipate plenty of individualized attention. This workshop is suitable for beginner to advanced stage students and fly fishing sport enthusiasts.

Materials: Students need to bring 5, 6, or 7 weight rod with matching floating weight forward line – with advanced notice, one can be provided. Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses/hat, and water for the outdoor portion of this course.
