Arkansas Craft School
Instructor: Anne Criss
This beginning weaving course is designed for both the student who is a complete beginner and for those weavers who wish to refresh their warping and weaving skills. We will start with the basics of learning the parts of the loom, preparing the warp, dressing the loom, and operating the floor loom to produce a woven sampler. Participants will learn the “how-to’s” of planning a project, reading a draft, choosing the best materials for the project and how to finish an item.
This class will meet once a week and students will have access to the weaving studio between classes as well. Projects will include table runners, place-mats, scarves, or rag rugs. Students will have the opportunity to focus on projects of their choosing.
No prior skills are required, but some physical flexibility is needed to work with the 4-harness looms. Please inquire with us on our Contact Page if you have any questions.
Tuition: $320 for all 6 classes
Materials fee: $60
