Beginner's Soft Glass Beads and Pendants

In this ½ day beginner’s glass course, glass artist/instructor Mike Engle teaches the students the basic techniques and safety required to begin or refine their practice of creating beautiful glass beads and pendants. Students will leave this course with several new creations and a passion for this ancient art form!
Intro to Flyfishing & Fly Fishing II: Casting Styles

Appropriate for beginner or intermediate students. Taught by renowned master casting instructor, Keith Richards of The Camp Fly Fishing School you will be sure to improve your expertise! This class includes a 2 hour presentation/discussion on the basics of fly fishing followed by a 2 hour lesson to practice and get expert guidance to improve your fly fishing prowess! Girls Creating Dreams: Collage Art Workshop for Girls

In this 3 hour “Creating Dreams” collage art workshop for girls, Aly will offer students guidance toward developing, defining, and visualizing their dreams through collage art. Students will select images, words, and materials that best reflect the dreams they seek to create in their lives.
Instructor Aly Dearborn will offer students various processes through which to approach this project in order to best reflect each girls’ desired outcome. Suitable for girls ages 8 and up.
Poetry Writing Intensive for Teens
Instructor: Dave Malone

In this week long poetry writing workshop for teens, students will receive individualized guidance from the instructor in improving their poetry writing in a multitude of ways, including meter, rhyme, line & stanza breaks, using the five senses, narrative, clear meaning, audience, etc.
Hand-Forged Hunting Knives
Instructor: Shawn Ellis
Dates: July 12th - July 14th
In this 3 day course with Forged in Fire Champion, Shawn Ellis, Students will learn to hand-forge a hunting knife with a 4″ blade. Students will learn safety information, basic forging skills like heat treating, putting handles on, etc. Students will leave this workshop with the knife they’ve forged, a wealth of knife knowledge. This class can help shave years off of their learning curve if they want to pursue the craft further.
Threaded Pictures
Instructor: Dorothy Anderson
Dates: July 25th & 26th
In this two day thread picture workshop, students will choose a photograph to bring to class and will learn how to turn it into a threaded work of art! Pictures of pets are a popular choice. Chosen photos will be printed onto computer printer fabric and threads will be added to create your design. The instructor will have an image of the buffalo river available as a template for students if desired. See pictured. Though this project requires patience, it can be very relaxing and students will end up with an incredible work of art.
