Wood Lathe Turning for All Levels of Experience, Feb 28
Date: February 28, 2026
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Tuition and Materials: $230
Instructor: Keith Kyle
Students: Ages 16+
Location: 101 N Peabody Ave. Mountain View, Arkansas (Main Campus)
Whether you are new to woodturning or have turned for years, this workshop is for you. Wood turning is a woodworking skill that has been around since the ancient Egyptians - no wonder it's so much fun! The Arkansas Craft School has a well equipped wood workshop with lathes for small to large projects. All tools necessary to get the job done will be provided along with safety gear and supplies. All you need to bring is a great attitude and a heart for the art.
For beginners, the workshop will offer the basics of turning and the opportunity to come home with at least one completed small project such as a pen or seam ripper. For those with some experience you can dig deeper into bowl turning or perhaps a lidded vessel. All the skills necessary for all projects will be patiently explained while you enjoy your day of turning.
Workshops begin at 10:00 AM and will conclude approximately at 4:00 PM. Lunch breaks can be taken if the class desires or each student is welcome to bring lunch. Please do not wear loose fitting clothing and do wear closed toe shoes, long sleeves and long pants work best - the workshop is air conditioned. Those with longer hair should be prepared to tie hair back.
