Tuition and Materials: $75
Instructor: Hannah May

Start learning the potter’s wheel or try it out for fun. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of getting started with wheel throwing pottery, including an introduction to clay tools, wedging and clay preparation, and then finally how to center clay on the wheel to make small simple dishes that will be fired in the kiln, glazed, and ready for pickup. This workshop will prepare students to continue practicing wheel throwing at the craft school and are encouraged to utilize the Studio Pass Program to practice centering and making small cylinders on their own before signing up for more advanced wheel workshops in the future.
Special Note: Finished items need time to dry and to be bisque fired. The student may return on December 21 at 10am to glaze. If you can't return to glaze, someone can do it for you, just pick your color on December 7. Pick up your item(s) any time after December 30.
There will be another pottery workshop on the same day creating a mug. You may enroll in both, but each workshop is $75.
