Adventures in Gelli Plate Painting, Nov. 15-16

Time: 10am-4pm (hour off for lunch)

Students: Ages 17+
Location: 101 N. Peabody Avenue/ Main campus
This two-day workshop addresses the fundamental skills needed to begin creating beautiful prints utilizing a gelli plate and acrylic paints and mediums. We will be using a variety of papers including copy, rice, and parchment. Together we will explore layering methods used to print works that may be matted and framed, used in an art journal, or as collage papers. You will receive 3 or 4 methods as image transfers, stencils and masks, and charcoal, and then allow students time for uninterrupted experimentation and play. We will discuss surface preparation, design ideas, and paint choices as well. The materials listed are only the basics to get you started. Most of the items can be purchased at Dick Blick, Jerry’s Arterama, or Micheals.
