Have you always wanted to learn how to make jewelry using metals like sterling silver and copper, but felt intimidated by the cost of getting started? Soldering real silver jewelry doesn’t require a setup that costs thousands of dollars! All kinds of creative doors will be opened to you once you learn how to use a Butane Micro-Torch for silver soldering.

In this two-day workshop, we will cover all the basics of how to start metalsmithing and soldering with a torch. You will create 3 styles of rings and 3 styles of earrings. We will even cover how to make your own ear wires.

We will cover how to create and size rings in different kinds of stock, how to make a freeform wire ring, and how to set small stones in premade settings.

For the earrings, you’ll make a pair of hoops, a pair of dangly earrings with ear wires, and a set of post earrings with small cabochons.

You don’t need any experience to take this class. It’s 100% beginner-friendly and all the tools and supplies are included in your tuition and kit fee.

If you have your own tools, you’re encouraged to bring those so you can build familiarity with them, but there will be lots of other tools to try out at class as well.
