Intro To Glass Beadmaking, March 1
Date: March 1, 2025
Time: 10am - 3 pm (hour for lunch)
Tuition and Materials: $140
Instructor: Sage Holland
Students: Ages 16+
Location: Main Campus- 101 N. Peabody
This one day class is for anyone who is curious about glass beadmaking and wants to have hands on experience with the tools, this includes a Oxygen Propane torch and solid glass rods. You will also get information on studio set up. If you already had a beginning class but still want basic information and torch time with the instructor this is a great opportunity as well. We will cover simple techniques like making a one color bead then how to layer transparent colors over opaque colors. This teaches how to control the heat. Next we will start learning dots. Which is one of the many ways to design patterns. We will also cover making Stringers to create designs with lines. We will learn to manipulate the lines as well. If we have time we will make simple twisted canes for more design potential. We will learn to make round beads, barrels and squares among other shapes.
Wear cotton clothing or natural non flammable clothing.
